My dearest Káta,

You´re name said it all. You were always extremely happy, you could light up a room with your foolish funny ways. Sure you were a bit too happy at times and my legs had the bruises to show how well your tail mirrored your mood. I tried to teach you to stop wagging it but that was an impossible task, because the more I tried to get you to stop the more you loved the attention and the more I realised that you being happy was just something I had to live with and well, I´m glad that you were so happy! You did turn out to be quite the Daddy´s girl though but if there were no birds to hunt or bikes to pull you were my baby 100%.

You loved clicker training and I have never owned a dog so in-tuned to my wishes, the way you could dance with me in a heal position tightly "glued" to my leg even backwards was my favourite trick. I had such ambitions for you, you were going to be my lucky star at obedience, shows and trials. The obedience was coming along well, the trials were your favourite element and you excelled in them, the shows were another matter but I think you just needed time to fill out.

That time wasn´t to be and I lost you so young. I know you´re with your brothers Rúfus and Benni, and Hófí must have met you at the gate as well. She didn´t know you but I´m sure she knows I loved you and that would have been enough for her to sense and welcome you!

We all miss you but I think especially your mom Valdís. You were truly unique in many ways but I see some of your special quirks in your half sister Bína and I think that if you keep an eye on her she might just be able to almost follow in your footsteps. Maybe you can give her some pointers in her dreams.

Last photo has a little story! Káta finally got to see what mom had been doing the last couple days. She was SO sweet, I had to smile and go AHHH. She had on her own just brought my slipper and a big stuffed teddy bear and put them into the whelping box when no one was watching. They are her two favourite things to carry around but of course the puppies didn´t play with them so I think she was a bit disappointed!
