December 31st
New Year's Eve and the first part of the evening the dogs were just lazing around after their special dinner.
Then the celebration began just before midnight and the dogs didn't mind the noise at all. They were outside for a bit and watched the fireworks overhead, running out to see where the noise was coming from and then looking at us with big smiles on their faces. Birta did her little happy dance in a circle, ran to the edge of the porch and watched them explode into the air then turned around and looked at me and ran back again to watch. If I didn't know better I'd think they loved every moment of it. Pretty quickly we came in the house after figuring out the wind was too strong and we saw a couple fireworks blow off to the sides rather than up. We moved the bed closer to the window and they got to jump up on the bed and watch them out the bedroom window with us. When we went into the living room they even stayed there and watched by themselves. Silly dogs! It was really windy and rainy, actual storm weather (there were warnings given out) and not the safest to be outside with the fireworks that were flying all over the place from the neighbour's lawns. So we didn't get any photos of the fireworks at all this year.

After the fun of the fireworks they were a bit excited and up for some fooling around. Klói and Birta were rolling around playing on the sofa and then Klói all of a sudden rolled off and right onto Freyja who of course was a bit perturbed at that and told him off. He jumped right back up for some cuddles and his mom thought she needed to give him some too! What a big baby he is. :-)

December 26th - 29th
All the dogs have now tried out the puzzle they got for Christmas but here are two of them trying it out for the first time. Freyja got so excited that she was actually allowed to play with something by herself. She is concentrating so much it's fun to see that she still has fun learning new things.

Then Hofi got her turn and didn't take her too long at all to figure it out. She got to play with it on the sofa.
December 23rd - 25th
Just thought I'd add a few photos from Christmas, of course they are all included not just Klói even though this page is accessible from his page. First I want to include the photos here of the "choir" taken a couple days before Christmas.

Rúnar and Freyja on the sofa, Freyja had been sick that day (was taken on the 23rd) and we were seriously dreading possibly having to make a hard decision about her future, so she was enjoying a quiet moment with "Daddy". Klói is never far away from his grandma...I'm not kidding he always has to be very close to her no matter what she is doing, he even sleeps right beside her bed at night from the time he was allowed to sleep outside his crate, it is quite sweet.

Here they are with their "joint" Xmas present, mostly for Klói but we weren't going to tell them that. It was a bit expensive and we didn't have much money this Christmas so we got one gift for all of them and a couple bones and pigs ears. Needless to say Klói had to be the center of attention and open it for the bunch of them and they didn't seem to mind.

Here is the puzzle and Klói very concentrated on his first attempt at it...he did really well. Like I've said before he's a smart boy, Frigg and Freyja watched with interest, I'm sure they will get a try at it later and probably know exactly how to do it just from watching him.

So here they are getting their pig's ears. Freyja had a bit of trouble so Rúnar was breaking some pieces off for her to get her started.

And Christmas day goodies from their stockings...a rawhide chew each.

Birta found the best spot in the house to chew hers. Unfortunately she ended up being sick shortly afterwards so never finished hers and the other dogs ate it. We weren't sure if it was because of the rawhide or something else but none of the other dogs was sick and we didn't want her eating any more of it just in case.

Hófi didn't take long at all to finish hers and she realized that if she went out to the front room then no one would bother her.

Phew, tired dogs Klói and Frigg. Christmas day we finally got some snow so the dogs had a ball before it started to rain again! Even Freyja joined in, they all love the snow so much but Klói and Birta are the goof balls that can play to no end. This was earlier in the day before she was sick and she ate a lot of snow so possibly that was what upset her stomach.
