Went to see the grandpups at my friend Brynhildur's of Reykjadals kennel. They are so sweet and their mom is so attentive and takes good care of them despite her having a C-section she has been a good mom from the second she awoke I was told. I can't help it I have a clear favourite already, he is called Kóngur Páfi (King Pope) and is the dark one lying on my lap with a white V on his chest. His one brother is very similar to him in colouring but has slightly more white in his face and neck, shorter socks and a bit more brown grey markings already.

Hófi and Klói's very first introduction to a bike went very well, both pulled a little away from it at first and Klói wanted to go to heel at the very start but soon figured it out. Rúnar walked with them at first and then tried to sit on the bike and just go a few meters up and down the street. Frigg and Birta used to bike all the time so they got to go for a short run. Next time they can go even farther but they need to get back into shape.

A whole bunch of photos from our walk on the beach today. Enjoy!

After awhile of running around and chasing a dummy in the water and on the beach all of a sudden a huge black sea bird arrived and thought he'd try to get rid of us and well to tell you the truth it kind of worked. It really did scare me how he swooped down towards the dogs because he was quite big. We didn't get too many photos of him being nasty, we were just trying to get away from him, a couple times he was just a couple feet away and flying right at the dogs. He had singled out Hofi for a bit since she is smaller than the rest but at the same time all the dogs were smart to stay pretty much grouped together. Rúnar did manage to get a couple after he settled down a bit just before we left. Here you can see Hofi deciding this is too nasty a bird to play with so she is on her way back to us. Then a close up of the bird in flight and lastly a photo (and close of the same photo) of poor Klói looking like he was to be the victim on this bird's wish list. Poor cute little Klói wasn't taking part in that game either. The very last photo is Frigg watching the bird from a distance, he had sat down on the beach by then.

Then it was back to the car. You can see where the main road is, there is a car driving past our car where it was parked. This is the first time we have been on this part of the beach, I'm sure we'll go back there some time it was really great for the dogs they loved the water it was really shallow. The tide came in quickly so we had to keep an eye on our feet so they wouldn't get wet. :-) Not very often the tide is out far enough to run on the beach at this part but we can take them there when it's low tide.

After the walk they were full of sand and sea so that meant rinsing off in the yard when we got home. It's always loads of fun getting out the hose, although Frigg and Hófi love to swim they are not as happy to be hosed down but Birta and Klói can't get enough. Hehehe

After the rinse Rúnar took the comb to Birta because she is really shedding at the moment.

June 23rd-28th
Cute photos of Heida before she went back home, her and Hofi liked to sit and look out the window. Funny to see the size difference.

We went for a walk by the lighthouse today, on leash because there are birds nesting in the fields. You can just see the lighthouse in the far left of the first photo.

We finally got a chance to go see the whale that beached there a while ago, they decided they were not going to do anything to this whale, just leave it to rot in nature. So Runar stayed with the dogs and I took the long walk past the "bomb diving birds" (I think they are called terns, they fly down and attack you if you don't listen to their warnings). Luckily they must not have their young yet because they only gave me verbal warnings and flew close but didn't attack this time like they usually do. So I made it all the way to the whale and took some photos that I put in the photogallery under other photos. Got some photos from where Runar was compared to the whale and then of some really cute ones.

From the whale to where Runar was waiting, it was a long walk that I took on my own to get some photos but well worth it. You really can't see Runar on the first two photos but I zoomed in as I kept walking and you can see him in the other ones.

Now how cute is this sight that was waiting for me when I got back?

On the way back to the car, I tried to find the little baby birds that we saw when we got there but I couldn't find them so no photos. I got a few photos of the flowers on the beach though.

And then a few cute sleeping photos, well Runar is sleeping and someone else woke up when I brought in the camera but quickly fell asleep again. :-) Aw, Frigg sleeping in Freyja's old bed. So sweet, I know she still misses her as do I at times.

June 20-21st
Just a few photos since Heida will be going home tomorrow I took a couple photos of her in the yard just for fun, she loves the sun even though it hasn't been too warm the sun has been shining a bit during the past few days. Hail however on the 22nd so it's really a weird summer all over the world I think.

Here is a nice sunset on the 22nd, taken between 3:30 and 4 am. supposedly it was the longest day of the year and now we can expect the darkness to slowly return.
June 15-18th
Went for a short walk the other day and remembered the camera. The silly dogs had to run into the water of course and came out with red clay all over themselves so they needed to be rinsed off when we got home. For Birta being rinsed off meant just more fun to be had, Klói wasn't as happy about it.

Because it was a bird nesting area by the water we didn't let Heida run around, had thought of having her on a long lead but when she took a stand as soon as she came out of the car I really didn't want to ruin her training for Beggi so she stayed in the car while the other dogs ran around and then I drove home so Rúnar could walk home with her for some exercise.

After the walk everybody needed a nice nap, those are always the best times of the day. LOL
Typically I usually only have the camera close when the dogs are sleeping on the couch so here are a few cute sleepy photos of the gang.I know that's about the only photos I post, dogs sleeping on the couch but I just can't help it I think they are cute! Hehehe I tell you Birta and Klói adore Heida, they are probably going to miss her when she goes home but most of all I think poor Heida is going to be lonely on her own again with no doggy friends to play with or to clean her ears for her. :-)

What I'm just cleaning her ears!

June 14th
A few photos of everyday cuteness. :-) Rúnar was mowing the lawn and Klói just wanted to be outside and watch, Birta had been watching as well and came back out when he was done to see where he had gone with the mower. Thought her expression was cute here.

Somebody just wanted to laze around and feel the sun on her back. Not too hot here unfortunately for us but I guess it's nice for the dogs to have low temperatures but sunshine.

Feeling right at home!

Heida is at our house for a two week visit so I thought I'd put a few photos of her and the other dogs up. Birta just loves her to bits (maybe she remembers growing up with Káta and Dísa, Heida's mother). Hófi took a shine to her too and it was so funny at first with Klói because he was scared of her. The first thing that happened when she came in the house was that her tail swatted him in the face pretty hard, but he is licking her ears and plays with her. He also went into her cage today and rolled all over her covers and underneath them so her cage was a mess, it was funny. I know he was telling me her cover is dirty and needs to be washed. :-)

She is making herself right at home and seems to be very much a buddy of Rúnar (she has grown up with only the male influence from Beggi) although she follows me around when I'm alone at home, she is just like her mother and half sister Káta. What a sweetie, I'm glad we get a chance to get to know her a little better. These are too cute!
Rúnar needed to cut the grass yesterday after our two weeks away and wow was it long the dogs of course loved the long grass but I'm sure the neighbours weren't very impressed and try to find the hidden "treasures" the dogs deposit each day in long grass not such an easy task.

Afterwards of course Klói thought it was so much fun to play as you can see by his green feet it wasn't such a good idea. lol

Hehehe, I had to snap a photo of Birta sound asleep excuse Rúnar's foot in the photo. :-) She had fallen asleep with her feet straight up in the air and her head hanging down off the bed, even when Klói sniffed her she didn't wake up right away, obviously just as tired as Rúnar was after his hard day of work. lol
