Finally we could go for a walk on the beach we used to take Freyja to with them. The beach is a nesting place for terns so cannot be visited during the summer. We didn't see a single bird now so obviously they are gone or they took the day off. :-) Many have told me they like that photos in Icelandic nature so I figured I'd add photos even though the dogs look quite small on some of them. Klói loved running in the frothy water even though the huge waves were breaking in front of him. Birta as usual had to roll around in the nice smells of nature. :-)

The sun came out for a few minutes during a few day period so we grabbed the chance to take the dogs out for a little run. Oh my goodness Freyja is out of coat and Frigg is almost bald she is so out of coat so not the best photos but cute and I thought they looked happy.

Picking some crow berries, or at least trying to...Frigg and Hófi ate more than I managed to pick. What little piggies.

Had to take this photo of the crack in the lava rock, cool. The rainbow came out on our way home and of course it was raining again, you can see the little town we live in under the rainbow.

This is taken on the mountain that we drive over to go to Reykjavík. The dogs loved to pick the crow berries but unfortunately I didn't discover them until we were so far from the car that I didn't want to go back to get a bag (we always keep bags in the car) to put them in so I didn't pick any to bring home. I guess we'll have to go back and remember to take a bag with us.

After the walk I spent a little time alone with Hofi on the way to the car and took some photos, since we don't have too many of her. :-) I think they turned out pretty nice.

We went to stay at the family cottage and took a few photos there. The dogs didn't get to run around much there but the couple days were spent resting. Birta is terrible when it comes to being all guts, she climbs stairs and even ladders if you let her and unfortunately I didn't catch her quick enough to stop her from actually climbing these stairs. I didn't expect her to actually do it and half way up she slipped and fell back down because the stairs are very slippery. I felt so bad but I think she is okay at least she hasn't shown any signs of actually hurting herself and she didn't cry. Rúnar felt sorry for her and took her up so she could see what was up there...the others didn't get to go but they sure wanted to but none of them was stupid enough to try to climb up on their own after watching Birta fall down. LOL We only stayed on the ground floor anyway so she didn't try to go back up for the rest of the time we were there.

Kloi insisted on helping me play Yatzee! Of course we won. :-) Birta didn't care about our game she liked looking out the window.

They all slept in the bed with us so that was great fun. The last few minutes spent writing in the guest book...a must even though it's a family cottage, it's two years since we were there last but hopefully we will stay there a bit more often since we had a really nice time away from computers, phones and the TV.

Again we went to the beach, it's getting to be a habit. Turns out the dogs have such a blast in the water that we figure on a day when the weather is good then why not take advantage of it, we won't be going to the beach much in the winter time. This time I tried to get nice candid more close up photos of the dogs along with some just showing the nice weather and how happy they were running around. Starting with a few nice shots of Birta by herself. She just thought it was great fun to roll around in the wet muddy sand of course there is a fishy smell to the water here so no doubt she wanted to smell good.

Then we have a few of Klói in his glory, starting with one taken before we left the house. He went and sat in the same spot that his grandma Freyja used to sit but by now Freyja's little tree is a little bit bigger than while she used to sit by it. The next photo is so funny, you can't tell but he had actually laid down in the water and was teasing the others trying to get them to come get him.

Hófi has a few photos on her own as well and enjoyed the run immensely. Boy she reminds me of Frigg sometimes.

And last but not least Frigg, she wasn't as keen to run around like the rest...she is an old lady but she did take part in the chase off and on during the hour or more that we were there. As you can see on the one photo of her and Klói she can still hold her own in a good game of chase. He did pass her in the end though. :-)

Below are a bunch of photos of the gang fooling around. Enjoy! They sure did.

First a photo on the way from the car and then the way back to the car. The dogs took turns "choosing" to be in the heel position, it was pretty cute when I had 3-4 dogs at heel without asking for it. Rúnar took a video and so has no photos of it but I did get a photo or two of the treck back to the car when they ran and wanted to heel with Rúnar part of the way. Okay I know it's not the competition tight heeling but what do you want when the dogs just decide to come and walk beside you?! This is Klói and Frigg and Hófi is on her way to him as you can see her little head at the front of the photo.

Let us in it's time to go home.
