Hófí came to us from "frá Olafsfjordur" kennel in Netherlands.  Her breeder Helma was kind enough to take care of Hófi for the first 7 months of her life so we could bring her in to quarantine in Iceland.  Hofi is a sweet tempered little girl that loves to play. 

Hófi´s mother Lotta was born while I lived in Norway and she was a beautiful puppy who I often wished I could have kept. Porry (Sámur´s grandfather) was one of my favourite dogs as is Sámur who my good friend in Norway owns. I was extremely happy when Lotta´s owner decided to mate Lotta to Sámur because Sámur´s mother is a member of the rare O-family (an extremely rare bloodline that needs to be preserved) and a great-great-grand puppy of mine.

Hófi has a sweet character, she is a smart little girl and the fact that she has been clicker trained from the time she was a puppy at her breeder´s is most likely part of it. She also has many traits from her grandmother Frigg and watching the two of them together can be so funny. But one of the most interesting things with Hófi is the fact that she bites her nails and keeps them trim just like her name sake her great-grandmother. Unfortunately she is quite small and fineboned but her temperament and overall structure is extremely good so I have high hopes that she may produce some nice puppies in future. Rúnar is excited to try agility with her because she is so quick on her feet and no doubt she will be able to compete with the fastest of them if she gets the right training.

The photos below are taken on June7th 2007 when Hófí and her grandmother Frigg went for a walk together. Hófí is 18 months old here. She heard a strange bird call and was so interested in it and Rúnar was lucky enough to have the camera ready. She stood there for the longest time and just listened and then looked at us, I guess it was a sound she has never heard before we don't get that type of bird around our house.
